Our Story

Many see The Khayber as the best Indian restaurant in Belfast, but officially, The Khayber has been voted among the Belfast Telegraph’s Top Ten Restaurants (across all categories) and consistently receives excellent reviews from restaurant critics and and the general public alike.

The restaurants are named after the historic mountain trade route between Central Asia and South Asia, known as the Khyber Pass. With the alternate spelling of Khayber, began an international reference to how the word is pronounced in the local dialect of the region, which is also the birthplace of The Khayber restaurant’s founder Mr. Khan (well known for opening one of Northern Ireland’s first and most popular Indian restaurants, The Mogul on Great Victoria Street in Belfast).
